Frequently asked questions
The outreach coordinator will be calling you on the upcoming Monday or Thursday. If you do not want to be contacted further, please click the button below to send the outreach coordinator an email.
What to do before we call
-
Once your inquiry is received, an account will be created for you on Client Care and an email will be sent to you with instructions of how to log on and set your password.
This email may go to your junk mail, and will be from ClientCare, not from The Birth Center.
-
This information MUST be filled out prior to your first appointment. If it is not filled out, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. This will also make the initial risk assessment call go much quicker.
After logging on to ClientCare, the first page that comes up is Contact Info:
The first tab is Contact Info, fill out all that you can regarding your contact info and information about you and your partner if that is applicable.
The second tab is titled Health History which has multiple tabs after clicking it to be filled out. Please fill out as much information as you can under each tab. If you have any questions or are not sure what to put, you can ask the outreach coordinator on the initial call or the midwife at your first appointment.
Under the Forms & Records tab, there will be several other tabs to review:
Under Consents, there will be several forms that you will need to click and sign electronically. If you are unable to sign them electronically, you may sign them at your first appointment, just simply arrive early to do so.
Under the Educational Forms tab, there will be files that will answer any questions you may have and give you further information.
In the Uploaded Files tab, you can upload a phota of your drivers license, a front and back photo of your insurance card, and any medical records you have obtained yourself.
In the Financial tab there is a section titled Insurance Info. If you have put in your insurance info in the inquiry form, this will be in there. Please double check this information and add a secondary insurance if you have it.
-
Because of the immense amount of work put in to make sure your care is personalized and seamless during the registration process, there is a non refundable $200 registration fee for clients coming into care for prenatal and birth.
Under certain circumstances, the Birth Center may refund the fee at their discretion.
This fee can be paid in your ClientPortal by going to the Financial Info tab and then the Payment Records tab.
-
If you have had prenatal care during this pregnancy or a previous c-section, there will be a consent in your ClientCare Portal called the "ROI (Release of Records) consent to fill out, and we will fax that to your provider.
You can also call your provider and request your records for personal use. This includes any provider you have gone to for care or testing this pregnancy. By requesting for personal use and you giving The Birth Center the records, it can make the process go faster for reviewing records for risk assessment.
Note that for c-section records, we will need your operative records from the doctor who did your c-section.
-
While reviewing this page and during the time until the outreach coordinator reaches out to you, write down any questions or concerns you may have so that we can make sure we answer them during the initial call.
What Happens During the Call
-
Depending on your needs, whether simply establishing care, coming in to address a problem, or looking for guidance, we will talk about why you are coming in for an appointment and any issues you may be having, insurance coverage, go over the information in your client portal to fill out prior to your appointment, and schedule you an appointment with a provider.
-
This call will be somewhat lengthy as we will be talking about a variety of topics to do an initial risk assessment prior to your initial appointment.
We will cover information about your current pregnancy, any prenatal care for this pregnancy and if records need to be obtained, past pregnancies, a general medical history, insurance coverage, any questions regarding the client portal, childbirth education, and scheduling a tour, initial appointment, and ultrasound if necessary.
-
We will schedule you an initial appointment with a midwife, an ultrasound if needed, and a tour of the birth center which every new client must have.
Ultrasounds are only scheduled on Wednesday.
What Happens After the Call
-
Your initial appointment will consist of 2-3 separate appointments, though they typically occur on the same day. These consist of tour, an ultrasound if needed, and the appointment with the midwife.
Ultrasounds are only performed on Wednesdays.
-
All new birth center clients must attend a tour of the birth center per state regulations.
This tour is a great time for many questions you may have and to become familiar with the space. Our goal is for you to feel safe and comfortable here!
